Why Oxygen Service Needs a Separate Materials and Cleanliness Review

“Oil-free” and “oxygen-ready” are not interchangeable labels. An oil-free compressor source can establish a technology or product-family boundary, but oxygen service still requires a dedicated review of gas-contact materials, cleanliness, seals, auxiliary systems and the project safety basis.

Start from the actual oxygen duty

The RFQ should identify oxygen concentration or purity, pressure, flow, temperature and expected contaminants. These inputs determine what the engineering team must verify rather than what can safely be inferred from a general air-compressor brochure.

Use photographs as visual evidence, not parameter evidence

A real source photograph can document the appearance of a compressor platform. It cannot authorize a pressure setting, material, seal or oxygen-cleanliness requirement for a different configuration. Keep technical data tied to the exact approved source.
